We want to assure you that we will be doing all we can to ensure Bubble Rush events in 2021 go ahead in a COVID-safe way.

If you have taken part in a Bubble Rush before you may see some changes to how we are running the event.  But we are determined to keep the foamy, family fun going – safely, and within the current guidelines.

The health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers is our number one priority.

We are following the latest national Government and events industry guidance to ensure the risk to everyone involved in Bubble Rush is minimised.

As the entire Bubble Rush event takes place outside the risk of transmission is low, but we ask everyone to be aware of, and follow, the current national and local guidance when travelling to and from the event, and whilst taking part.

We are following specific guidance published by the following organisations:

  • The Dept. for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport
  • Sport England and England Athletics
  • The Events Industry Federation and outdoor events industry.

At Step 3 of the Roadmap ‘outdoor and indoor gatherings or events, organised by a business, charity, public body or similar organisation can be organised, subject to them complying with COVID-Secure guidance including taking reasonable steps to limit the risk of transmission, complete a related risk assessment; and ensure that those attending do not mix beyond what is permitted by the social contact limits (unless another exemption exists).’

Bubble Rush events are is classed as an ‘organised sporting activity’ because they are formally organised by a company or charity.

So, in line with Step 3 of the ‘roadmap’ specific guidance from Sport Engalnd and England Athletics states that formal organised running events that are Covid-secure can take place for adults and children.

We have produced a detailed Risk Assessment and Event Safety Management Plan which cover every aspect of the Bubble Rush event, including ensuring that all UK Government guidance around COVID-19 is considered.  These plans have been checked by the local authority, including the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) which is made up of representatives from the local authority, emergency services, public health and environmental health.

Our event schedule, Risk Assessment and Event Safety Management Plan have also been accredited by the Safe Event Scheme: an events industry scheme comprising health and safety specialists and event organisers from all sectors of the industry.  Accreditation by the SES means that our plans and policies have been double checked and are following the latest regulations and guidance.

However, UK Government guidance supersedes all advice given by industry bodies and we will be constantly monitoring the national guidance and take account of the local situation when finalising our event plans.

We ask all our participants to also stay up to date with the latest UK Government guidance and help us to deliver a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved in Bubble Rush.

Many outdoor events and ‘grassroots’ sporting events have already safely restarted,  and from the discussions we have had with event partners and local authority SAG committees (Safety Advisory Groups) we are confident that our plans are robust.

With the help of everyone involved – our staff, our charity partners and volunteers, suppliers and of course our ‘bubblers’ we are looking forward to a busy summer taking Bubble Rush around the country.
