In just three weeks’ time we will be welcoming our bubblers to events in Guildford, Brighton, Newcastle and Carlisle – and then we’ll be delivering our colourful, fun 5k events to more than 30 locations around the UK until the end of September.
We have been working hard on our plans for running Bubble Rush in line with the latest Government guidance. For events in Step 3 of the Roadmap for England, this includes limiting the numbers of people at the event and having social distancing measures in place to manage queues in the event village. Although Bubble Rush events take place entirely outside, where the risk of transmission is very low, we still need to take every reasonable precaution to ensure we keep our staff, volunteers and participants safe.
For each Bubble Rush event we have to prepare a detailed Risk Assessment and Event Management Plan, which set out how we will be managing all aspects of the event; including COVID-safe measures. These plans are checked by the venue and the local authority – including public health and the emergency services. Each one has also received accreditation from the Safe Event Scheme, an events industry quality assurance scheme which confirms that our plans and procedures are following the latest regulations and procedures.
Whilst it’s exciting to be so close to events restarting we will be closely monitoring the situation across the UK and ensuring that we can deliver the events in a COVID-safe way. We are asking people to keep up to date with our plans for their chosen event by joining the Facebook event and following the checklist they will be sent ahead of the event. Registration will close on the Wednesday evening before each event, and we won’t be able to take sign ups on the day – so it’s important to book in plenty of time.
Since we launched our events calendar, we’ve been really encouraged by the enthusiasm shown for Bubble Rush, right across the country. With a few dates still to announce we are looking forward to visiting every part of the UK and playing our part in safely bringing outdoor events back.
See you in the bubbles!
